Offering 15 OD continuing education hours (12 hours are also Legend Drug) and six support staff education hours, Indiana Optometry's Meeting will be held April 28-30, 2023, at the French Lick Springs Hotel in French Lick, Indiana. The annual convention includes world class education, the Awards Luncheon, a robust trade show with industry leaders, the House of Delegates meeting, the President's Reception, and the opportunity to socialize with your peers from around the state.

Mind-bending Neuro-ophthalmic Grand Rounds from the Chiasm and Beyond

This course provides a case-based approach to lesions of the chiasm and retrochiasmal visual pathways along with an overview of neuroimaging techniques relevant to the neuro-ophthalmic evaluation of these patients. Emphasis is placed on correlation of the clinical findings with neuroradiologic features of chiasmal and retrochiasmal pathology.  2 Hours IOB and Legend Drug

Papilledema vs. Pseudopapilledema

Differentiating papilledema from pseudo papilledema remains a neuro-ophthalmic challenge. This course reviews the clinical characteristics of papilledema as compared to pseudopapilledema anomalous optic nerves with special attention to recent OCT findings that are diagnostically specific for each. Special attention will be paid to the OCT characteristics of optic disc drusen and related findings associated with pseudo papilledema.  1 Hour IOB and Legend Drug

Today’s world and technology options present a variety of challenges in regard to vision usage. You will learn the effect of today’s exponential use of digital media and its effect on children in regard to vision and academics. Common visual symptoms and the diagnosis and treatment of the accommodative and binocular vision issues that cause them will be reviewed. The information shared will aim at allowing practitioners to give the proper treatment to patients and the proper advice to parents who ask about the effect of the digital age on vision development.  2 Hours IOB

Prescription Formulas for the Pediatric Patient

This course will review the most commonly available ocular medications in the pediatric population. Diagnostic, antibiotic, and allergy agents will be presented with the age approvals, proper dosage, and side effects of each discussed. Presentations of the anterior and posterior segment pathology frequently diagnosed in the pediatric population and the proper treatment and follow-up care for each will conclude this presentation.  1 Hour IOB and Legend Drug

Managing Glaucoma Over Time and Detecting Progression

Advances in OCT and Perimetry (all types) have changed the way that glaucoma is managed over time. Improvement and efficiencies in software analysis, now provide the optometrist with the essential data elements of change analysis. This course will use a case-based approach for identifying glaucoma progression. Visual Field Testing: New Options vs. Well Established Standards

Visual field testing remains an essential element of optometric daily practice and is often the initial diagnostic test performed on patients. It is a required complement to OCT imaging for high-risk disease suspects. Recently, several versions of “Head Mounted” or “Virtual Reality” perimetry have become commercially available. This presentation will review some of these new options along with the latest developments in traditional perimetry. Requests postmarked or emailed between April 13 and April 27, 2023, will receive a 75% refund. No refunds will be made after April 27, 2023.
