Need a few more hours of CE before the April 1, 2022, license renewal deadline? Here's your last chance!
The IOA's Last Chance Seminar will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the Embassy Suites, Noblesville, Indiana. This optometric continuing education event offers eight hours of in-person IOB and Legend Drug CE credit. The IOA and the Embassy Suites are committed to the health and safety of our attendees, including compliance with CDC and IN government guidelines in effect at the time of the seminar.

AMD Masqueraders

The diagnosis of age-related macular degeneration is not always straightforward. Other retinal conditions can similarly result in drusen development or retinal pigment epithelium disruption, creating the potential for misdiagnosis. Through case examples, this course will review AMD masquerading conditions that can present with similar clinical findings and age of onset. 1 Hour IOB and Legend Drug

An Update on Retinal Surgery

This course presents a retinal surgical update on epiretinal membranes, macular holes with OCT diagnosis and surgical treatment, and broadly cover symptomatic central vitreous membranes and strands, retinal detachment, and diabetic retinopathy.

Diagnosis and Management of Choroidal Effusion

This course covers the natural history, diagnosis, and management of choroidal effusion. Post-operative hypotonous choroidal effusion, post-operative hemorrhagic choroidal effusion, idiopathic uveal effusion syndrome, and medication induced uveal effusion are discussed in detail. An emphasis is placed upon clinical management of each condition. Several differential diagnoses are discussed as well including retinal detachment, choroidal tumors, and retinoschisis. 1 Hour IOB and Legend Drug

Herpetic Eye Disease: Making it Simple(x)

This course covers the anterior segment complications associated with herpes simplex virus infection. The natural history of the herpes simplex virus and the epidemiology of HSV infections are discussed. Blepharocunjunctivitis, dendritic keratitis, stromal keratitis, endothelitis, trabeculitis, iritis, and neurotrophic keratitis are all covered in detail. Primary disease vs. secondary recurrent disease is stressed. 1 Hour IOB and Legend Drug

Our understanding and ability to treat ocular surface disease has expanded greatly over the past decade. New diagnostic tests and treatment options have the potential to improve patient outcomes and practice efficiency. This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest thoughts on diagnosis and treatment of ocular surface disease. An emphasis will be placed on the need to identify and treat inflammation, lid biofilms, and meibomian gland obstruction. 1 Hour IOB and Legend Drug

Despite a global pandemic, it is important to realize that innovation continues to happen in the world of ocular therapeutics. This course will review new medications that have been approved over the past two years for common disorders such as dry eye disease and presbyopia, as well as less common diseases such as neurotrophic keratitis. 1 Hour IOB and Legend Drug
